The slow action of a plug, which cannot be produced by a jig, naturally leads to predation. That is Rerise.
Cast the lure upriver to the current or upstream where the water is deep and baits tend to gather, and send the lure to the bottom with moderate line tension, just enough to pinch it lightly with your fingers, to reduce snags.
When dropping it to the bottom, jerk the rod with a large force immediately after it hits the bottom to remove the lure from the bottom to prevent snags.
Lure it up with slow short and long jerks, aiming for 5-10m.
Short jerks create a writhing sideways action, and long jerks create an S-shaped sliding action.
The most bites occur when the lure floats after the jerk. After luring it up 5-10m, let the lure fall again to the desired range with moderate line tension.
After it falls, lure it up again. By repeating this action, you will bring your target fish to bite.
