Whitlocks Diving Frog

Whitlocks Diving Frog is tied to Dave Whitlock’s exact specifications, matching what’s in his fly box. This diving frog pattern reproduces the diving sequence Whitlock favors, with depth controlled by strip cadence: faster strips drive deeper, then a slow wobble toward the surface. The repeatable cadence delivers a predictable depth profile across casts.

The size 6 pattern maintains a compact form that remains convincing at short or long reaches. By aligning with Whitlock’s proven presentation, you gain a versatile option for patterns that require a quick dive and a deliberate ascent to entice strikes.
