The Tronixpro Round Beads Max Pack 8mm are a size variant of a popular and versatile component used heavily in sea fishing rig building. The Max Pack designation means they are sold in a larger bulk quantity.
Key Features
- Size: 8mm diameter. This is a large size for a round bead, making it highly visible and suitable for heavy-duty applications.
- Quantity (Max Pack): Typically a Max Pack contains 150 beads. (Smaller regular packs often contain 50 beads).
- Material: Made from high-quality, shatterproof polycarbonate plastic, ensuring durability and color retention, especially in harsh saltwater environments.
- Colors: Available in a wide variety of colors, including Luminous, Red, Yellow, Green, Black, Clear, Orange, and Mixed packs.
Primary Uses in 8mm Size
The larger 8mm size is specifically favored for applications requiring strong protection and maximum visual attraction:
- Buffer Beads: Their main use is as buffer beads, especially in boat fishing. They are placed between a running ledger boom (like a Tronixpro Zip Slider or Ledger Boom) and the swivel or mainline knot. Their size provides ample cushioning to protect the knot from the constant impact of the boom or lead weight.
- Visual Attraction: The large size and bright or luminous colors are used as attractors to entice fish to the hook.
- Plaice Fishing: The Black/Green mixed 8mm pack is specifically marketed as an ideal combination for attracting plaice when drift fishing or fishing at anchor, as the large, bright beads add considerable visual appeal near the bait.
- Rig Component Stops: They can be used as stop beads in rig construction, secured with crimps to fix swivels or other components in place on the rig body.
