Shimano FX FC C3000

Shimano FX FC C3000 | Quality Engineering for Every Angler

At Gerrys Fishing, the Shimano FX FC C3000 is our top recommendation for anyone looking to enter the sport without a massive financial commitment. This reel proves that budget doesnt have to mean low quality. By stripping away unnecessary frills and focusing on core Shimano engineering, the FX FC delivers a smooth, reliable experience that outperforms many reels twice its price.

The C3000 size is a Compact 3000, meaning it features the body of a 2500-sized reel with a larger capacity spool. This makes it the ultimate all-rounderlight enough for all-day lure fishing but with enough line capacity and drag power for larger freshwater species and light coastal work.

Reliable Performance & Technical Excellence

• Precision Shimano Gearing: At the heart of the FX is a gear system designed by the worlds leader in bicycle and fishing technology. This ensures that even after hundreds of sessions, the retrieve remains smooth and the power transmission consistent.

• XT-7 Body & Rotor: The frame is constructed from Shimanos proprietary XT-7 composite material. This provides a lightweight yet rigid foundation, ensuring that the internal gears stay in perfect alignment even when you are under pressure from a hard-fighting fish.

• AR-C Aluminium Spool: Unlike many entry-level reels that use plastic spools, the FX features a cold-forged aluminium AR-C spool. The specialized angled spool lip reduces friction during the cast, allowing the line to leave in smaller coils for increased distance and fewer wind knots.

• Varispeed Line Lay: This technology uses two specifically shaped gears (one oval, one square) to ensure the line is laid perfectly flat back onto the spool. This prevents the line from bedding in and ensures your next cast is as smooth as your first.

• Super Stopper Anti-Reverse: The FX comes equipped with a roller clutch that provides instant hook-setting power with zero back-play in the handle, giving you total control when a fish strikes.

Use Example: The Ultimate General-Purpose Setup

Imagine you are heading out for a day of fishing but arent sure what youll find. You might be float fishing for Perch in the morning and switching to throwing lures for Pike or Bass in the afternoon.

The FX FC C3000 is the perfect tool for this versatility. The 8.5kg max drag gives you the stopping power needed for a surprise Pike, while the 250g weight ensures your arm wont get tired during long casting sessions. Because it handles both monofilament and braid with ease thanks to the AR-C spool, you can load it with 10lb mono for general work or PE 1.5 braid for technical lure fishing. It is a reel that simplifies your gear while maintaining professional standards.
