Deep River Pools: The 11g weight allows you to cast across wide rivers and work the lure through deep, oxygenated runs where Trout and Chub hover.
Canal Bridges & Pilings: The wide-head design makes the Squobbler rebound off hard structures. If it hits a piling, it often kicks out to the sidea movement that frequently triggers a strike from a big lurking Perch.
Weedy Lake Margins: Dive it down to its 1m limit along the edges of reed beds to entice Jack Pike into an aggressive reaction strike.
Urban Street Fishing: The compact 56mm size is the perfect snack profile for pressured fish in city canals that have seen too many large lures.
The Squobbler is a deflection specialist. Because of that wide head and buoyant body, its actually quite snag-resistant. Dont be afraid to fish it near the bottom or close to rocks. If you feel the lure bump an obstruction, stop winding for one second. The lure will squobble and float upward, clearing the snag. Often, a following fish will smash it the second it starts to rise!
Is 11g too heavy for a small lure?
Not at all! The 11g weight makes this one of the best-casting small lures on the market. It allows you to use standard lure tackle while still presenting a small, finesse-sized bait.
How deep does it actually go?
On a standard retrieve with light braid, the Squobbler will reach a consistent depth of 1 meter (3ft). If you hold your rod tip high, you can work it much shallower (approx. 0.5m).
Is it suitable for Trout in fast water?
Yes. The wide-head design helps the lure grip the water, meaning it wont spin or blow out even in relatively fast-flowing river sections.
Does it have a rattle?
The Squobbler relies primarily on its aggressive body displacement and vibration for attraction, making it a great silent alternative when fish are spooked by noisy rattling lures
