Returns Simplified. If you are looking for a reliable, no-nonsense workhorse for your commercial sessions, the Daiwa Matchman Landing Net Pole 3m is exactly what you need. Here at Gerrys Fishing, we understand that commercial fishing puts immense pressure on your gear. This handle is specifically engineered to bridge the gap between affordability and high-end performance, giving you the confidence to net hard-fighting carp and F1s session after session.
The Matchman 3m handle is perfectly suited for modern commercial fisheries, especially when you are using short pellet rods or shallow pole kits. What sets this handle apart is the integration of Daiwas HMC+ (High Modulus Carbon) and X-WRAP reinforcement. These premium technologies deliver a level of power and stiffness usually reserved for much more expensive designs, ensuring the handle doesnt fold or bounce when youre trying to net a fast-moving fish in the margins.
The two-section assembly makes it incredibly easy to transport and quick to put together. To ensure you have total control even in the rain or when your hands are covered in fish slime, Daiwa has added a textured painted grip on the butt section. It feels slim and balanced in the hand but possesses the raw strength needed to handle double-figure carp with ease.
Prime Locations & Uses:
Commercial Carp Lakes: Designed to withstand the rigors of high-catch-rate days targeting carp and F1s.
Canal & River Matches: The 3m length provides just enough reach to clear marginal vegetation while remaining stiff enough for fast-paced silverfish sport.
Short Rod Setups: The perfect companion for 9ft and 10ft bomb or feeder rods where a longer, unwieldy handle would be overkill.
The X-WRAP reinforcement on this handle is a game-changer for durability. When youre in the middle of a frantic match and netting fish after fish, you need a handle that can take a few knocks against the platform or the side of your seatbox. The Matchman is built for that reality. My advice? Keep it as a dedicated commercial handleits stiff enough to guide the net through the water quickly, which is key when every second counts toward your final weigh-in.

Q: Is this a take-apart or a telescopic handle?
A: This is a two-section take-apart handle. Take-apart handles are generally preferred by match and commercial anglers because they are stiffer and more robust than telescopic versions, allowing for better control in the water.
Q: Can I use this for large specimen carp?
A: While the Matchman is incredibly strong and designed for commercial carp (typically 3lb to 15lb), it is not a dedicated specimen long-reach handle for 30lb+ fish. However, for 90% of UK commercial fishery situations, this handle has more than enough power.
Q: Does it come with a standard thread for my net?
A: Yes, it features a high-quality brass thread that follows the universal 3/8 BSF standard. It will fit any landing net head from Daiwa, Preston, Matrix, Guru, and more.
