This fly suggests a leech with an egg, a combination fish recognize as an easy meal, which explains why it has become a staple on Alaska waters, interior steelhead runs, and Atlantic salmon rivers. Trout, grayling, bass, and migratory fish all key on leeches because they stay active in open water year-round, hiding in mud and moving along the bottom where fish expect to find them. Fish this streamer on a cast-and-retrieve, dead drift it through likely holding water, or work it back with a slow jigging motion by lifting the rod tip one to two feet as you reel to give it a pulsing action that draws aggressive strikes. Proven streamer pattern for steelhead, Atlantic salmon, rainbow trout, grayling, and bass Mimics a leech ingesting a salmonid egg for a high-visibility subsurface profile Effective on a dead drift, standard retrieve, or slow jigging presentation near the bottom Tied on Daiichi hooks with a down eye, 1X strong wire, 2X long shank, and sproat bend Quantity per pack: 2 Prop 65 Warning SEE LESS
