Fulling Mill Rob’s Booby Daddy

Fulling Mill Robs Booby Daddy Proven Competition Fly for Irish Stillwaters

TheRobs Booby Daddy is a long-kept competition secret and a fly with serious pedigree, playing a key role in gold-medal success at the Commonwealth Championships. This versatile pattern adapts perfectly to different situations, making it a true confidence fly for Irish stillwater anglers.

In smaller sizes, the Booby Daddy works as an extremely effective shrimp imitation, while larger versions are often taken as an emerging damsel. Its slim, drab and buggy profile gives a natural appearance that trout trust, even under pressure or in clear conditions.

The buoyant booby eyes lift the fly subtly in the water, creating just enough disturbance and movement to draw attention without spooking fish. This makes it an excellent choice as a point fly on the washing-line, where it helps keep the entire setup fishing at the correct depth.

Best Fishing Setups

• Ideal as a point fly on the washing-line
• Effective on floating, intermediate, or slow-sinking lines
• Fish static or with a very slow retrieve
• Excellent when targeting bigger, more cautious trout
