The Garbolino Combo Compact Handle & Folding Head is the ultimate grab-and-go solution for those who love to wander. Whether youre a canal specialist, a river rover, or a holiday angler looking to tuck a net into your suitcase, this combo offers the perfect blend of reach and portability without the bulk of traditional match gear.
This set features a multi-section telescopic handle that extends to a generous 2.7 metres, providing enough reach to clear marginal reeds or high canal banks. The Pliante (folding) net head mechanism is the star of the show, allowing the 38cm frame to snap shut in an instant. This means the entire system collapses into a remarkably small footprint, fitting neatly into the included protective carry bag. At Gerrys Fishing, we see this as the Swiss Army Knife of landing netssimple, effective, and always ready for action.
Telescopic Versatility: The multi-section handle slides smoothly and locks securely, offering a full 2.7m of reach when needed.
Pliante Folding Mechanism: A robust, intuitive hinge allows the 38cm head to fold in half, making it incredibly easy to transport in a rucksack or carryall.
Fish-Friendly Mesh: Designed to be gentle on scales and slime layers while remaining deep enough to secure larger-than-expected bonus fish.
Universal Screw Fitting: The handle features a standard thread, meaning you can swap the head for any other standard landing net head in your collection.
All-In-One Portability: Comes complete with a dedicated carry bag to keep your boot dry and your gear organized.

Gerrys Pro Tip
When youre stalking and moving between swims, keep the net in its carry bag until youve found your spot. The bag prevents the mesh from snagging on brambles and keeps the magnet or clips on your vest clear of tangles. Once youve hooked a fish, the telescopic sections are designed to be flicked out with one hand. Practice the flick-out motion at homeits a game-changer when youre trying to manage a rod and a net at the same time!
Q: Is the handle strong enough to lift large fish?
A: Like all landing net handles, it is designed to draw fish through the water. While it is robust enough for fish up to 5lb8lb, you should always lift the net by the frame (not the handle) once the fish is clear of the surface to prevent unnecessary stress on the telescopic sections.
Q: Can I use the handle with a larger net head?
A: Yes. The handle uses a standard universal thread. However, keep in mind that a very large carp net might make the 2.7m handle feel a bit tip-heavy. It is optimized for the included 38cm head.
Q: Does it fit into a standard suitcase?
A: Yes, the compact collapsed length of the handle and the folding nature of the head make it one of the most travel-friendly options on the market.
Q: Is the mesh hook-resistant?
A: The mesh is a fine, soft-touch material designed for fish safety. While not 100% hook-proof like some heavy rubberized nets, the fine weave makes it much easier to free barbless hooks compared to traditional nylon.
