Hardy Ultralite ASR Replacement Spool

Purpose-built replacement components for anglers maintaining the discontinued Hardy Ultralite ASR (Assisted Spool Release) fly reel series. These high-impact polycarbonate spare spools enable rapid cross-weight line swaps without adding bulk or drag to your vintage frame.

• Impact-Resistant Composite: Clear polycarbonate shell engineered to endure temperature extremes and physical impacts while staying significantly lighter than aluminum alternatives.
• Toolless Alignment: Precision-cut inner profile locks securely into the original housing using the factory quick-switch spring-loaded latch.
• Visual Line Tracking: Integrated color-coded, reusable rim pins provide immediate identification of line type and weight classification.
• Optimized Arbor Profile: Large diameter design increases retrieve ratio and minimizes line memory retention during repeated casts.
• Targeted Sizing: ASR 5000 optimized for 56 wt Trout rigs, ASR 6000 handles 67 wt indicator and streamer loads, and ASR 9000 supports 911 wt saltwater and Spey applications.

Rapid spool rotation eliminates downtime between fishing conditions, allowing seamless transitions from floating to fully-sinking configurations without upgrading your entire reel inventory. Because these inserts retain the exact dimensional tolerances of the original ASR architecture, they maintain reliable bail engagement and consistent drag pressure under heavy loads. Be advised that compatibility is strictly limited to legacy ASR reel housings and does not interfere with newer platforms such as the Hardy Ultradisc Cassette or Averon Cassette.
