Shimano Sienna Spinning EVA 2.41m 20-50g 2pc

Shimano Sienna Spinning 2.41m (20-50g) | The Compact Heavy-Hitter

At Gerrys Fishing, we understand that beginner and budget-conscious anglers still need the grunt to tackle big fish and heavy lures. The Shimano Sienna Spinning range is the ultimate entry-level solution, designed to be the perfect technical match for the famous Sienna reel.

This 2.41m (approx. 8ft) model is the heavy hitter of the shorter lengths. With a beefy 20-50g casting weight, it is purpose-built for launching larger lures and controlling powerful predators in tighter spaces where a longer rod would be cumbersome. Constructed on a Full Carbon blank, it offers a lightweight feel that belies its incredible strength, ensuring that even inexperienced anglers can fish with absolute confidence.

Built for Strength and Durability

• Full Carbon Blank: Unlike heavy, floppy glass-fibre rods often found at this price point, the Siennas full carbon construction is crisp, responsive, and surprisingly light (only 183g), making all-day casting much more enjoyable.

• Moderate-Fast Action: This action is ideal for those still perfecting their casting technique. It loads deeply and predictably, providing a smooth sling for heavy lures and plenty of cushion to prevent hook-pulls when a big fish is thrashing at the net.

• Shimano Hardlite Guides: These tough-as-nails guides feature stainless steel frames and are designed to stand up to the rigours of saltwater and freshwater environments. They work perfectly with both traditional monofilament and high-performance braid.

• Ergonomic EVA Handle: The modern split-grip EVA handle is durable, easy to clean, and provides a comfortable, slip-resistant hold. It integrates seamlessly with the DPS reel seat to keep your reel locked in tight during heavy fights.

Use Example: Close-Quarters Pike & Urban Lure Fishing

Imagine youre fishing a canal with heavy lock gates or a river with overhanging trees. You need to flick a heavy 40g swimbait or a large spinner right into the shadows where a big Pike is lurking.

The 2.41m length gives you the maneuverability to cast accurately in cramped conditions, while the 20-50g rating handles the weight of larger lures with ease. When that Pike strikes, the rod has the immediate backbone to set the hooks and the power to stop the fish from diving into the snags. Its a rugged, dependable tool for those who want maximum power in a manageable length.
