The Guerilla Mono Mag 6500 is a versatile powerhouse designed for the rigors of UK shore fishing:
Clean Ground Distance Casting: The combination of the floating spool and the refined Mono Mag system makes this a dream for hitting distant sandbars for Bass, Whiting, and Flatfish.
Mixed Ground Scenarios: With its upgraded hardened-brass gearing and high-torque power handle, it has the grunt needed to lead fish through light weed and over mixed ground.
Match Fishing: The reliable magnetic braking system allows for quick adjustments on the fly, making it perfect for competitive scenarios where you need consistent, tangle-free casts regardless of wind direction.
Specimen Hunting: The new carbon drag system is significantly smoother than previous versions, providing the consistent pressure needed to tame hard-fighting species like Smoothhounds and Rays.
Gerrys Pro Tip: > The beauty of the Mono Mag system is its simplicity. When you start your cast, dial the mag knob out to let the spool fly. As the lead begins to slow down mid-flight, simply click the mag back in slightly to stabilize the spool and prevent professional overruns (birds nests). The 2026 Secret: Because this reel features ABEC 5 bearings and a floating spool, it is fast! We recommend starting with the mags at 50% for your first few casts until you find your rhythm.
Do I need to tune this reel before I go fishing?
Unlike many multipliers that require aftermarket bearings or special oils, the Guerilla is designed to be plug and play. The NMB ABEC 5 bearings are already high-spec, and the Mono Mag gives you all the control you need from the exterior.
How does the Carbon Drag perform compared to the old model?
The 2026 carbon drag system has much less start-up inertia. This means that when a big fish makes a sudden run, the drag releases line smoothly and instantly without jerking, which is the main cause of lost fish at the shoreline.
Is the reel foot compatible with standard rods?
Yes. Tronixpro has introduced a wider, stronger reel foot for this model. It provides a much more stable and snug fit in standard Fuji-style reel seats and coasters, reducing any reel twist under heavy pressure
